THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHT HOME ATHLETIC EVENT
Sat.-Sun., Sept. 22-23, 15th ESU-Kiwanis Soccer Classic
ESU will play host to the 15th Kiwanis-ESU Soccer Classic Satuday and Sunday. The Warriors will take on the University of Bridgeport Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and Concordia College Sunday at 3:30 p.m. The fourth team in the tourney is New Jersey Tech.

Mandy Sturm (Jr., Shermans Dale, Pa./West Perry) and Michelle Butkus (Sr., Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) scored goals as the Warriors beat Bloomsburg in field hockey for the first time in 21 years.
Sturm scored the first goal with 1:05 remaining before halftime off a pass from Kate Dideon (Jr., Lancaster, Pa./Living Word Academy). Butkus then made it, 2-0, after 2:41 of the second half with Dideon again credited with an assist.
Shannon McCracken (Jr., Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) was a standout for the team as she moved over to center midfielder from a right midfielder position and helped the Warriors both on offense and defense. Goalie Kelly Wagner (Jr., Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) made ten saves in the victory.
Bloomsburg had beaten ESU 24 straight times in field hockey since the Warriors' only victory in the series back in the first meeting in 1980.
