Wednesday & Saturday - Two Home Women's Swimming Meets
The ESU women's swimming team, enjoying one of its best seasons in years with a 6-2 record, will compete in two home meets this week against Scranton Wednesday at 7 p.m. and against Millersville Saturday at 1 p.m. Both meets will be in the Koehler pool.

Juwan Justice (Jr., Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic) and Gabe Crowley (Jr., Philadelphia, Pa./George Washington) both turned in big scoring games last week as the Warriors split a pair of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division contests.
Justice poured in 30 points in a 92-80 victory over Mansfield. The 6-4 forward made 9 for 14 shots from the floor, including three 3-pointers, and 9 of 13 from the foul line. The Warriors had a 20-point lead in the first half, but then had fell behind by five points, 76-71, with 5:59 left before scoring 15 straight points for the victory. He then had 14 points in an 89-75 loss to Bloomsburg and is averaging a team-high 16.2 points per game..
Crowley returned to action after missing ten games because of a knee injury and hit for 29 points against Bloomsburg. The 5-10 guard was 8 for 17 on the field goal attempts, with two 3-pointers, and 11 for 12 on free throws. The Huskies made 67 percent of their shots (30 for 45) including 69 percent (20 for 29) in the first half.
Frontcourt player Mike Collins (So., Morristown, Pa./Pennsbury) hit double figures for the first time this season with 11 points in each game. He also grabbed 11 rebounds in the two contests.

Forward Kelly Hutchison (Sr., Reading, Pa./Exeter) continued her outstanding play with 43 points in two games with 54 percent shooting, but the Warriors dropped two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division games last week.
Hutchison hit a career-high 24 points in a 69-66 loss to Mansfield, making 9 of 17 shots from the floor and 6 of 8 from the foul line. She also grabbed nine rebounds. Later in the week, she scored 19 points in a 78-56 setback to Bloomsburg as she connected on 5 of 8 field goal attempts and 9 for 14 free throws. She is averaging 13.4 points per game.
Forward Pam Helt (Jr., Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna) scored 11 points against Mansfield and then had eight points and a game-high ten rebounds in the Bloomsburg game.
Guard Steph Kuhn (Sr., Columbia, Pa./Conestoga Valley) continued to set up her teammates as she had nine assists in the two games, giving her a team-high 46 assists for the season.

Women's Swimming (6-2)

Heather Clouser (Jr., Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing Area) had another big week, winning five times in two meets and achieving season-best times in two events.
Clouser swept the backstroke against both opponents as the Warriors beat host Lock Haven, 87-35, but lost to Bloomsburg, 74-48. She captured the 100 back in a season-best 1:03.18 and then took the 200 back in 2:15.58. She also combined with Mikaela Thorne (Fr., Elkins Park, Pa./Cheltenham), Jamie Miller (Jr., Northampton, Pa./Northampton) and Donna Gebhard (Sr., Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) on a 200-yard medley relay team which was first in 1:56.34.
Two other ESU swimmers won events against both opponents with Karen Scott (So., Berwick, Pa./Berwick) first in the 50-yard backstroke in 25.75 and Miller taking the 200-yard individual medley in 2:21.43. Miller also had her best time of the season in the 200-yard butterfly in placing second in the overall meet in 2:15.08.
Earlier in the week, Clouser swept three events, the 100 and 200-yard butterfly and the 200 backstroke in a team season-best and pool record 2:14.82 as the ESU swimmers trounced St. Rose, 102-32. Miller was a double winner in the 200 breaststroke in 2:40.78, best by any team member this season, and the 200 freestyle in 2:05.97.

Brad Kleckner (141, Jr., Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville) scored a pair of victories last week to raise his winning streak to three straight as the Warriors beat Franklin and Marshall, 23-15, but lost to Drexel, 30-13.
Kleckner trounced Ted Seemuller of F and M, 16-4, with three takedowns, two three-point near falls and two two-point near falls. He then beat Dante Cifelli of Drexel, 8-5, taking the lead quickly with a takedown and three-point near fall in the first period. His record is now 11-7.
The Warriors won four other matches against F and M. Kevin Rake (133, So., Mountainhome, Pa./Pocono Mountain) pinned Matt McConnell in 4:04; Matt Dudeck (157, Sr., Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) won by major decision over Isaiah Hankel, 9-1; Ben Zerance (197, Fr., Loysville, Pa./West Perry) edged Shawn Rodgers, 2-2, overtime rideout, and Marc Bauknecht (285, Sr., Cheshire, Ct./Holy Cross) won by forfeit.
Against Drexel, Dan Roy (165, Sr., West Belmar, N.J./Wall) won by major over Carl Schmidt, 13-2, and Danny Gonzalez (Fr., Brodheadsville, Pa./Pocono Mountain) pinned Chris Golla in 2:06.
