The ESU women's swimming team, now 4-1, will take on Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference rival Bloomsburg Saturday in a 1 p.m. meet in the Koehler Fieldhouse. The Huskies outscored ESU by three points to win the recent Bloomsburg Invitational.

Guard Katie Wear (Fr., Lewistown, Pa./Lewiston) scored a career-high 15 points to lead the Warriors to a 60-49 victory over Cheyney in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division opening game. She made 5 of 9 shots from the floor, including 3 for 6 3-pointers.
Forward Dana Thompson (So., New Egypt, N.J./Allentown) added 12 points against the Wolves while guard Shelly Garlach (So., Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) fed off six assists.
Over the weekend, the Warriors dropped a pair of games to PSAC Western Division opponents. Center Vanessa Kraft (So., Royersford, Pa./Spring Ford) and Heather Wolfe (So., York Haven, Pa./Red Land) were the team leaders with 12 points apiece in a 64-50 loss to Clarion with Wolfe also making five steals.
Forward Tiffany Barnes (Jr., Middletown, Pa./Middletown) had a double-double, her fourth of the season, with ten points and 11 rebounds in a 57-49 defeat to Lock Haven.

Freshman Natalie Weingartner (Fr., Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) continues to break records for the women's swimming team. She cracked her own school mark in winning the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:34.35 in leading the Warriors to a 150-87 victory over Montclair State. Her old mark was 2:34.64 set earlier in the season.
The Warriors had two double winners in Heather Clouser (Sr., Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing) in the 100 and 200-yard backstroke and Jamie Miller (Sr., Northampton, Pa./Northampton) in the 200 butterfly and 500 freestyle.
Mikaela Thorne (So., Elkins Park, Pa./Cheltenham) missed by a half second in breaking her school record in winning the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.37. Her mark is 1:09.95 set in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championships last season.

Center Jon Kelley (So., West Chester, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) had a big week with 31 points and 37 rebounds and guard John Krimmel (Fr., State College, Pa./State College) turned in a pair of double-figure scoring performances, but the Warriors lost three games.
Kelley had a pair of double-double in weekend contests against Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division opponents. He had 12 points and ten rebounds in a 91-61 loss to Clarion and 15 points and 13 boards in a 61-52 defeat at Lock Haven. Earlier in the week, he grabbed 14 rebounds and had four points in a 74-65 PSAC East loss to Cheyney.
Krimmel, a new starter at shooting guard, tallied 12 points on 5 for 12 shooting against Clarion and 13 points on a 6 for 11 night against Lock Haven. He has now made 19 of 33 shots from the floor for a 57.6 percent shooting average.
Leading scorer Juwan Justice (Sr., Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic) had three double-figure scoring performances with 23 points against Cheyney, 10 against Clarion and 11 against Lock Haven. His average dropped to 19.2 points per game.

Brandon Mihalko (165, Fr., Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) swept three matches in the Warrior Duals and Shawn Smith (184, Jr., Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) had another impressive week for the wrestling team.
Mihalko raised his record to 10-3 by winning a major decision over Mike Reish of American, 166, and scoring decisions over Seth Cameron of James Madison, 8-6, and Jason Kontopedes of VMI, 5-4. Earlier in the week, he lost his dual-match debut to Bryon Lauer of Rutgers, 6-2.
Smith just missed scoring a major upset at Rutgers, losing to Tom Tanis, 19th ranked in the nation, 7-5, in overtime. He had two wins in the Warrior Duals with a technical fall over Kyle Mason of American, 19-4, and a major over Jason Cox of VMI, 10-2. He also lost to Dave Colabella of James Madison, 4-2. His record is now 10-8.

Mark Stinson (Jr., Wescosville, Pa./Emmaus) won one event, placed in two others and set a school record to lead the Warriors in the 10th annual John Covert Classic at Lehigh. Stinson captured the long jump with a leap of 22-7 3/4. He was second in the 60-meter dash in 7.13, breaking his own school mark of 7.17 set last season, and third in the 200 dash in 23.53.
The Warriors had two other champions, Brad Fees (Jr., Port Carbon, Pa./Pottsville) in the high jump at 6-8 and Tawny Youtz (Fr., Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) in the 200-meter dash at 27.37.
Mike Newhard (So., Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) placed second in the high jump at 6-6 and also set a school record with a time of 8.67 in placing fourth in the 60-meter hurdles. He broke the mark of 8.84 set by Nick Boehmer in 2000. Glenn Kercher (So., Exeter, Pa./Exeter) was runner-up in the long jump at 21-10.
, Also placing third were Jackie Babbini (Jr., Cliffside Park, N.J./Cliffside Park) in the 60-meter hurdles, 9.81; Becky Fitz (Jr., Greencastle, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim), triple jump, 33-9, and the 4 x 400-meter relay team of Dan Garibaldi (Jr., Toms River, N.J./Toms River East), 52.8, Matt Bevan (So., Ashland, Pa./North Schuylkill), 55.0, Jim Dawson (So., Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy), 53.3, and Eric Brown (Fr., Roslyn, Pa./Abington), 53.3, in 3:36.30.
