Last Week's Results: *Bloomsburg (A) 0-28L *PSAC Eastern Division game

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The early loss of starting quarterback Jeremy Palm (Jr., West Lawn, Pa./Wilson) on offense and an inability to stop long passing plays on defense cost the Warriors in a 28-0 defeat to Bloomsburg.

Palm suffered a shoulder injury on the third play of the game when he was hit out of bounds following a one-yard rush. Bloomsburg was penalized 15 yards for the late hit. He was unable to return to the contest.

With their leader on the sidelines, the ESU offense seemed out of synch, managing only 183 yards. Tailback Andre Castiglioni (Jr., Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) gained 71 yards on 16 rushing attempts. Guard Jim Sodano (Jr., Madison, N.J./Bishop-Ellard) and tackle Dan Bratton (Jr., Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) both scored 86 percent in the film evaluations for their blocking. The Warriors did move into BU territory on six difference series with two advances to the 25 and 35-yard lines, but couldn't get any further.

The Huskies scored three touchdowns on passes of 41, 36 and 77 yards. Both of ESU's inside linebackers hit double digits in tackles with Rich Butcofski (Sr., Shavertown, Pa./ Dallas) making 12, including one sack, and Kevin Nagle (Gr., Effort, Pa./Pleasant Valley) 11.
