The Warriors, fresh from a 33-27 opening-game victory over Clarion, will open their Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division season Saturday at home against West Chester. Game-time will be 1:05 p.m. at Eiler-Mar tin Stadium.

Wide receiver John Kotarsky (Sr., Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) caught five passes for 167 yards and tailback Andre Castiglioni (Sr., Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) ran for 149 yards for a school-record eighth career 100-yard rus hing game as the Warriors opened their football season with a 33-27 victory over Clarion.
A crowd of 3,500 fans filled East Stroudsburg South High School Stadium for the first ESYA College Football Classic and the Warriors put on a show for them.
Kotasky combined with quarterback Jeremy Palm (Sr., West Lawn, Pa./Wilson) on two touchdown passes of 61 and 16 yards. They also hooked up on a 49-yard pass in the final minutes to set up the game-winning touchdown.
Castiglioni raced 16 yards on a draw play into the right corner of the endzone for the winning TD with 1:53 remaining. He carried 29 times in the game for an average of 5.1 yards per carry. His 100-yard performance broke the mark he had share d with Jim Snyder, who had seven 100-yard games from 1978-80.
Palm passed for 201 yards (8 for 24) in his senior season debut. Fullback A.J. Oliveri (Jr., Pittston, Pa./Pittston) rumbled 55 yards on 11 carries and scored one touchdown on a one-yard plunge. Mike Berry (Sr., Clarks Summit, Pa./S outhridge, Fla.) kicked field goals of 18 and 41 yards and punter Adam Hostetter (Sr., Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion) punted seven times for 42.6-yard average with a long boot of 55 yards.
Guard Jim Sodano (Sr., Madison, N.J./Bayley-Ellard) and tackle Dan Bratton (Sr., Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) both made the team's 80 percent club for their blocking with identical 81 percent marks.
On defense, linebacker Ryan Vermillion (So., Elverson, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) was the team leader with 15 tackles, nine solo and six assists. He also made the game's key defensive play as he sacked the Clarion quarterback for a loss of se ven yards when the Golden Eagles had driven to the ESU 39-yard line and had a second-and-one situation with 51 seconds remaining.
Safety Jeremy Brown (Sr., Centreville, Va./Centreville) had eight tackles and combined with halfbacks Nick Beisker (So., Leola, Pa./Conestoga Valley) and Michael Glover (So., Tabernacle, N.J./Shawnee) on a secondary which l imited Clarion to 93 yards passing (8 for 31).
Beisker had the game's lone interception which he returned 18 yards.
Linebacker Phil DeCecco (So., Warminster, Pa./William Tennent) and tackle Dustin Barno (Jr., Souderton, Pa./Easton) each made seven tackles with Barno having two sacks for for a loss of 13 yards.

Rachel Miller (Sr., Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock) controlled the play in the midfield area and Sara Gorman (So., Biglerville, Pa./Biglerville) and Michelle Butkus (Sr., Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) supplied the offense as the Warriors got their field hockey season off to a rousing start with a 3-1 win over St. Michael's, an NCAA tournament team last year.
Miller showed her All-America form as she dribbled around defenders to set up the ESU attack and was a key player in slowing down the St. Michael's offense. Meghan Furnia (Sr., Mount Joy, Pa./Conestoga Valley) and Shannon McCracken ( Jr., Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) also provided strong play on the team's veteran midfield unit.
Gorman scored two goals, one in each half, while Butkus has a goal and an assist. McCracken, Mandy Sturm (Jr., Shermans Dale, Pa./West Perry) and Mardelle Swoyer (Sr., Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon) also added assists.

Jason Cropper (So., D'Abadie, Trinidad/Fatima College) scored a 'hat trick' against St. Thomas Aquinas for the second straight year as the ESU men's soccer team rolled to a 9-0 victory in the consolation game of the Dominican College Tou rnament. The Warriors were upset by St. Rose, 2-0, in the first round.
Mike Lotocki (Jr., Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) added two goals and an assist while Brandon Smith (Sr., Forksville, Pa./Sullivan County) had three assists and Joey Piscopo (Jr., Spotswood, N.J./Spotswood) two assists in the on e-sided win.
Cropper also had a 'hat trick' against St. Thomas Aquinas last year in a 11-0 ESU win.

The Warrior suffered two losses to St. Anselm, 2-1 in overtime, and to host St. Michael's, 3-1, in a season-opening women's soccer tournament.
Colleen Gallagher (So., Plains, Pa./Coughlin) scored the team's goal against St. Anselm after a pass from Haley Case (Fr., Westhampton, N.Y./Westhampton Beach) while Kelly Gunther (Sr., Brick, N.J./Brick Township) had an un assisted goal against St. Michael's.
