ESU-Shippensburg Women’s Volleyball

SHIPPENSBURG – Jessica Nourse made 13 kills and April Mellott 12 kills and 17 digs as East Stroudsburg University opened defense of its Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division volleyball title by beating Shippensburg, 27-30, 30-18, 30-18, 30-22, Tuesday night.

The Warriors finished 9-1 in the division last year with their only loss in their match at Shippensburg. They are 4-2 overall this season while the Red Raiders fell to 1-6 overall and 0-2 in the conference.

Andrea Myers led ESU in digs with 19 and added ten kills. Jodi Wenger had 14 digs and three service aces. Also aiding in the victory were Sarah Brown with five blocks, including two solo, Heidi Johnston with 44 assists and Kristen O’Connell with three aces.
