ESU Women’s Volleyball

KUTZTOWN – East Stroudsburg University won its second straight Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division women’s volleyball title Saturday by beating Kutztown, 30-24, 15-30, 32-30, 30-27.

Coach John Greenlee’s Warriors finished the conference season with a 9-1 record, matching last year’s mark. They will play in the PSAC Final Four starting Friday with the tournament probably scheduled at Lock Haven.

April Mellott led the team with 13 kills, two service aces and 37 digs. Andrea Myers added 16 kills, three aces and 22 digs and Jessica Nourse 14 kills and 21 digs.

Also contributing to the victory were Sarah Brown, 5 blocks; Heidi Johnston, 46 assists, and Jodi Wenger, two aces. ESU’s record is now 18-9, best at the school in five years.
