ESU-West Chester Women's Volleyball
EAST STROUDSBURG - Heidi Johnston had 40 assists and five aces as East Stroudsburg University defeated West Chester in a PSAC East women's volleyball match Tuesday night in three games, 30-26, 30-28, 30-25.
The win clinched a playoff berth for the Warriors, who are now 8-1 in the conference. ESU will take on second-place Kutztown Saturday morning at 11am. The winner of that match will win the PSAC East regular season title. The top two teams from the Eastern and Western divisions will advance to post-season play.
Seniors Jessica Nourse and Cassie Brinn both played their last games in Koehler Fieldhouse in the victory. Nourse had 14 kills, 17 digs and three service aces in the match. Brinn put up four strong blocks for the Warriors, each coming at key moments in the match.
Andrea Myers and April Mellott each played strong offensively, earning 11 and 7 kills each. Myers also served up three aces for the Warriors.
