ESU-Shippensburg Women's Volleyball
EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University completed a sweep of the first half of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division women's volleyball season by trouncing Shippensburg, 15-8, 15-12, 15-5, Tuesday night in the Koehler Fieldhouse.
The Warriors are now 5-0 in the division while Shippensburg fell to 4-1. The second half of the season starts Tuesday when ESU plays host to Kutztown.
Outside hitter April Mellott hit a blazing .704 to spearhead the ESU attack. She made 19 kills in 27 attempts and no errors. Andi Myers added ten kills and Jessie Nourse nine.
Ashleigh Reinert made 50 assists in the three games, an average of 16.8 assists per game. Mellott was the leader in digs with ten while Sarah Brown had 11 blocks and Nourse seven.
