ESU-Kutztown Women's Volleyball

EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University split five games in a close loss to Kutztown in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference women's volleyball match last night,24-30, 30-18, 26-30, 30-22, 13-15.

Junior April Mellott led the Warriors with 17 kills and 24 digs. Jessica Nourse had 17 kills and Andrea Myers had 14.

Setter Heidi Johnston had 67 assists on the night. Johnston also served well with two aces.

ESU covered the net well with 3 solo blocks and 10 assisted blocks. Sarah Brown had two solo blocks and two assisted blocks. Mellott had three assisted blocks.

ESU played well defensively, posting 100 digs on the night. Myers had 17 and Johnston 16.

The Warriors fell to 8-5 (2-1 PSAC). They will travel to the Clarion tournament this weekend.
