ESU Swimming in PSAC Championships
CLARION – Freshman Natalie Weingartner finished seventh in the 100-yard backstroke for East Stroudsburg University’s top individual finish Friday in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Swimming Championships Friday night.
Weingartner was timed in 1:01.15 in winning the consolation finals. The time was actually better than two swimmers in the championship finals. Teammate Heather Clouser finished ninth in the same event in 1:01.56.
The Warriors had two other individual place-winners in Jamie Miller 10th in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:01.47 and Mikaela Thorne 12th in the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.30. The ESU 200-yard medley relay team placed fifth with a time of 1:54.11
The Warriors fell to sixth in the team standings with 82 points. Defending champion West Chester is far ahead with 484 points followed by host Clarion 286, Bloomsburg 200, Shippensburg 176 and Slippery Rock 87.
