ESU-Scranton Women's Swimming

 

East Stroudsburg, Pa. - East Stroudsburg University's strength in the freestyle sprints made the difference as the Warriors edged the University of Scranton, 110-95, in women's swimming Wednesday night.

The Warriors, now 7-2, swept the first three places in the 50-yard freestyle and took first and third in the 100 free to score 30 points. The winners were Karen Scott in the 50 in 25.27 and Erin Kowalik in the 100 in 56.40.

Scott and Kowalik then combined with Natalie Harbold and Donna Gebhard to capture the 200-yard freestyle relay in a team season-best 1:41.76.

ESU had two other individual winners in Heather Clouser in the 100 backstroke in 1:03.40 and Mikaela Thorne in the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.50. Clouser, Thorne, Jamie Miller and Scott won the opening 200-yard medley relay in 1:55.67.
