ESU Women's Swimming

EAST STROUDSBURG. - Heather Clouser won three events and had team season-best times in two of them as East Stroudsburg University downed Montclair State, 157-101, in women's swimming Saturday.

Clouser won 100 backstroke in 1:03.45 and the 200 back in 2:15.39, the Warriors' best times of the year, and captured the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:22.54. She also combined with Mikaela Thorne, Jamie Miller and Erin Kowalik on a 200-yard medley relay team which was first in 1:55.80.

Miller also established two team season best times in winning the 100-yard butterfly in 1:00.82 and the 200 fly in 2:16.91.

Kowalik also was a double winner in the 100 freestyle in 55:59 and the 200 freestyle in 2:01.67. She had the best time in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in the 100 free this season at 54.51.

Other ESU winners were Thorne in the 100 breaststroke, 1:12.06, and Karen Scott in the, 50 freestyle, 25.60. Miller also had the meet's top time in the 200 individual medley of 2:18.32 and she would have been a triple winner, but she was swimming exhibition.

Kowalik, Jen Gallagher, Donna Gebhard and Scott teamed for a victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:58.04.

The win raised the Warriors' record to 4-1 with the next meet at St. Rose Wednesday at 5 p.m. Montclair State is now 3-6.
