ESU's Woolf on Northeast Regional Soccer Team
EAST STROUDSBURG - High-scoring forward Justina Woolf of East Stroudsburg University has been chosen on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Northeast Regional first team.
Woolf also made the All-Regional team two years ago as a sophomore. She missed the 1999 season because of an injury. She has been a three-time All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference selection.
The junior from Womelsdorf (Tulpenhocken HS) scored 12 goals and added two assists for the Warriors. She tallied goals in eight straight games during one stretch of the season and had a 'hat trick' in a victory over Philadelphia.
Woolf now has a career total of 41 goals, second highest in the school's history behind record-holder Terri Meierhofer, who scored 74 goals between 1994-97. Conference champion Lock Haven led the first team selections with four players in goalie Takiyah Thomas, back Rebecca Nichols and midfielders Naomi Clarke and Kristi Ward.
Regional winner Bloomsburg had three selections in back Danielle Brunetti and forards Christine Krebs and Alea Balthaser.
Also making the first team were back Summer Maddox of C.W. Post, midfielder Christina Almquist of West Chester and forward Kim Campbell of Adelphi.
