ESU-Lock Haven Women's Soccer
LOCK HAVEN - Justina Woolf scored the lone goal for East Stroudsburg University as they fell to Lock Haven University 3-1 in PSAC women's soccer Saturday.
Lady Eagle Brooke Rangi put Lock Haven on the board early with a cross shot from out wide off a pass from Kristi Ward at 2:15.
Woolf, the Warriors leading scorer, answered back with a 25 yard goal off an indirect kick to tie the game at 1-1 in the 15th minute. The Warriors weren't able to connect the rest of the day, being out-shot by Lock Haven 18-6.
Lock Haven's Naomi Clarke put the Lady Eagle's ahead going into half time as she booted one into the back of the net at 38:34 off another assist from Ward. Clarke added the final goal right at the end of the game off a cross pass from Katie Taylor. Taylor managed to draw ESU goalie Lindsay Vandegrift out of the net as she passed to Clarke.
Vandegrift posted six saves in the match.
ESU fell to 4-4 (2-2 PSAC), as they take on Clarion in a conference match next Saturday. Lock Haven improved their record to 9-1, remaining undefeated in the conference, 5-0.
