ESU-Le Moyne Women's Soccer
EAST STROUDSBURG - Jamie Adams had a goal and an assist as Le Moyne outlasted East Stroudsburg University, 2-1, in a women's soccer game at Eiler-Martin Stadium Thursday.
With her team behind, 1-0, with 13 minutes gone in the game, Adams crossed the ball from the left side to Helena Heppeler, who booted a shot to the bottom left of the nets.
With ten minutes remaining in the first half, Adams scored the game-winner, also into the lower left corner after taking a perfect through-pass from Julie Guinn.
ESU's lone goal came in the game' sixth minute on a shot by Justina Woolf after a pass from Tiffanie Savacool. It was Woolf's third goal of the season and 32nd of her three-year career.
Winning goalie Suzanne Mullen kept the Warriors off the board the rest of the way, finishing with 12 saves. Angie Scolaro played the first half in the goal for ESU and made six saves while Lindsay Vandegrift handled the second half assignment and had five saves.
The loss dropped the Warriors to 2-3 prior to their Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference opener at Millersville Saturday. Le Moyne is now 3-1.
