ESU-Binghamton Women's Soccer

East Stroudsburg, Pa. - Megan Augustine scored a pair of goals, both following passes from Tiffanie Savacool, as East Stroudsburg University ended its women's soccer season on a high note Monday by beating Binghamton, 3-2.

The Warriors finished with an 11-8-1 record, the school's eighth straight winning campaign. Binghamton is now 12-5-1 and hoping for an ECAC Division II tournament berth.

After the first half ended, 2-2, Augustine booted in the winning goal with two minutes gone in the second half. Savacool had lofted a pass over the defensive back line to Augustine, who ran onto the ball ten yards out on the right side and connected on a shot into the left corner.

The ESU defense held the rest of the way with Liz Guinup making many of her game total of ten saves. Sweeper Michelle Loh was a key in booting the ball away and keeping the Bearcats from organizing their attack.

Binghamton, which had beaten nationally-ranked Southern Connecticut, 3-2, Saturday, took a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute on Jamie Kissel's 19th goal of the season.

The Warriors scored two quick goals in the 22nd and 23rd minutes to go ahead, 2-1. Kelly Frame converted a penalty kick for the first goal and then Augustine drilled in a shot from 15 yards out, after a through pass from Savacool, for the second.

The Bears tied the score with 12 minutes remaining in the first half as Sarah Young scored after a pass from Kissel.
