ALBANY, N.Y. Freshman Gwen Gemberling scored her second game-winning goal of the season Saturday as East Stroudsburg University downed St. Rose, 3-2, in overtime.
Gemberling took a pass from Darla Snyder in the box and beat goalie Erica Smith to the right side with 5:50 gone in the first extra session. Earlier this season, she had the only goal in a 1-0 double overtime win over Adelphi.
Tabby Reed put the Warriors ahead as she converted a penalty kick after only 4:47 of play. St. Rose took a 2-1 lead into halftime on unassisted goals by Laura Erbe and Drea Porteus.
Snyder tied the game eight minutes into the second half as she connected following a pass from Michelle Loh.
The win raised ESUs record to 7-4-1 while St. Rose dropped to 4-5.
