ESU-Slippery Rock Women’s Soccer

SLIPPERY ROCK – Slippery Rock stayed unbeaten in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference women’s soccer race by defeating East Stroudsburg University, 3-0, Saturday.

The Rock is now 4-0-1 in the conference and 8-2-1 overall. ESU fell to 5-6 overall and 2-2 in PSAC play and will play at Edinboro today at 12 noon.

Blair Gantz and Line Nermark scored two goals in the last five minutes of the first half to give Slippery Rock a 2-0 halftime lead. Heather Herd added a second-half goal.

The shutout by goalie Allyn Bland ended ESU forward Justina Woolf’s eight-game scoring streak.
