ESU-Millersville Women's Soccer
EAST STROUDSBURG - Freshman Jennifer Amos scored her first career goal with 22 minutes remaining to give East Stroudsburg University a 1-0 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference victory over Millersville on Super Soccer Sunday at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
Amos headed the ball past Millersville goalie Heidi Lininger on a corner kick by Tiffanie Savacool.
With the win, the Warriors clinched their eighth straight winning season since the program was started at the school in 1992. The team is now 10-8-1 with one game remaining at home against Binghamton today at 2 p.m.
ESU goalie Liz Guinup made nine saves for her third shutout. The Marauder almost scored two two minutes remaining. Guinup stopped a shot by Katie Wiley, but the ball rebounded to Andrea Sass who missed a wide-open net.
Millersville dropped to 10-8-1 overall and 3-6 in the conference. ESU ended its PSAC season at 4-6.
