SHIPPENSBURG – Gwen Gemberling and Justina Woolf scored goals as East Stroudsburg University defeated Shippensburg, 2-0, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference women’s soccer game Sunday.
It was the third straight win for the Warriors and evened the team’s record at 8-8. They finished 5-6 in the conference. Shippensburg fell to 6-12-1 overall and 2-8-1 in PSAC play.
Gemberling scored an unassisted goal to give ESU a 1-0 lead after 12:30 of play. It was her fourth goal of the season.
Woolf then added an insurance goal with two minutes remaining off a corner kick by Julie Byrnes. It was Woolf’s 18th goal of the season and eighth in the last four games.
