ESU-West Chester Women's Soccer

EAST STROUDSBURG - Freshman Ryan Levine from Stroudsburg posted a shutout, her eighth of the season, and Jill Bartlett scored the lone goal as West Chester edged East Stroudsburg University, 1-0, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference women's soccer game Thursday.

The Golden Rams scored off a corner kick which Siobhan McGonigle deflected with the ball going to Bartlett, who nudged a shot into the lower right hand corner. It came with 38 minutes in the game.

The Warriors had a 7-5 edge in shots, but couldn't put one by Levine, who made five saves. ESU goalie Angela Scolaro had four saves.

With the win, West Chester improved to 9-7 overall and 5-3 in the conference. ESU is now 6-9 overall and 3-5 in PSAC and will play host to Shippensburg on Super Soccer Sunday at 12 noon.
