ESU-Shippensburg Women's Soccer
SHIPPENSBURG - Shippensburg goalkeeper Elizabeth Hartman made 10 saves, and Sara Kane-Grimes and Lisa Trombetta both scored as the Lady Raiders defeated East Stroudsbrug, 2-0 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference women's soccer contest Friday.
Despite outshooting Shippensburg 18-10, ESU was unable to score for the third time in its last four games. Goalie Angie Scolaro kept things close, giving up one goal in each half and making six saves, but it was not enough as the Warriors fell to 7-5-1, (3-4 in the PSAC).
The loss was also a blow to ESU's playoff hopes. The Warriors are now two games behind third place Slippery Rock in the race for the final playoff spot. Shippensburg upped its record to 3-11-1 (2-7 PSAC).
