ESU-IUP Women's Soccer

EAST STROUDSBURG - Shanelle Peters scored the first two goals in leading Indiana University of Pennsylvania to a 3-1 victory over East Stroudsburg University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference women's soccer game Saturday.

Peters scored the only goal of the first half, heading in a corner kick from Tia Kipp with 15 minutes gone in the game. She then scored an unassisted goal on a breakaway, striping a defender of the ball and then beating goalie Lindsay Vandegrift to put IUP ahead, 2-0, five minutes into the second alf.

ESU cut the deficit to 2-1 on Amy Sheppleman's breakaway following a pass from Gwen Gemberling with just over 14 minutes left in the game. But IUP wrapped it up less than three minutes later with Kirsten Hogg scoring and Meg Milani getting an assist.

The loss drops the Warriors to 6-8 overall and 3-4 in the conference. IUP is now 4-8 overall and 3-4 in PSAC play.
