ESU-California Women's Soccer

EAST STROUDSBURG - Justina Woolf scored in her seventh straight games and Megan Schumann and Kim Kotoff added goals as East Stroudsburg University downed California, 3-1, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference women's soccer game Sunday.

With her team ahead, 2-1, Woolf booted in a game-clinching goal from 20 yards out with less than five minutes remaining. She now has a season total of nine goals.

The Warriors had taken a 2-0 lead in the first half. Schumann headed in the first goal with 22 minutes left in the half off a corner kick by Tiffanie Savacool. Kotoff then took advantage of a bobble by goalie Rachel Cardinale to push the ball into the goal with a minute to go before halftime. Abby Davis was credited with an assist on the play.

It was the second straight win for the ESU team, which is now 4-5 overall and 1-1 in the conference. The team will play three straight away conference games this week at Kutztown Tuesday, Slippery Rock Saturday and Edinboro Sunday. California is now 7-5 overall and 0-4 in PSAC play.
