ESU-Kutztown Women's Soccer
EAST STROUDSBURG - Justina Woolf had the Warriors lone goal as East Stroudsburg University lost a tight Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference match against Kutztown 2-1 in overtime Tuesday afternoon.
After a scoreless first half, Kutztown's Lauren Tatro booted in the first goal in the second half at 68:35. Tatro shot over goalie Lindsay Vandegrift's head, putting the Golden Bears up 1-0.
With just over five minutes remaining in regulation time, Gwen Gemberling crossed the ball to senior forward Justina Woolf. Woolf beat the Kutztown defender to nail the game-tying goal.
Only 2:05 into overtime, Lauren Lick scored a breakaway goal after pulling Vandegrift out of net and beating the defender, giving Kutztown the game winning goal.
East Stroudsburg fell to 5-5 overall, 3-3 in the conference, and gave Kutztown their first PSAC win of the season. The Golden Bears are now 6-8 overall (1-6 PSAC). The Warriors will face Edinboro Friday at home at 3:30p.m. in another PSAC match.
