BLOOMSBURG – Brad Kleckner (141) won the final match after his brother, Keith Kleckner (149) and Dan Roy (174) had scored pins as East Stroudsburg University defeated Bloomsburg, 22-19, in wrestling Friday night.

With the Huskies ahead, 19-18, Kleckner immediately took charge against Adam Castner with two lateral drops in the first period a 10-2 lead. He scored two takedowns in the second period and had a pair of escapes in the third for a 16-5 major victory. He raised his record to 14-5.

The Warriors won the first four matches from 149 to 174 pounds to surge to an 18-0 lead.. Bloomsburg came back with five wins, including a pin by Andy Ludlow (197), former Stroudsburg High School wrestler, to go ahead by one point.

Keith Kleckner captured the opening match by building a 17-4 lead and then decking Brandon White in 5:31. It was his second straight pin and sixth of the season in a 15-13 record.

ESU’s two Liberty High School products then won decisions. Sophomore Matt Dudeck (157), now 14-7, beat B.J. Mikeska, 7-1, with a takedown and a three-point near fall in the first period. Freshman Brandon Mihalko (165), who has a 19-4 record, also used first-period scoring with two takedowns and a three-point near fall in downing Duane Bastress, 9-2.

Roy gave the Warriors their fourth straight win as he cradled Tom Anderson to the match in 6:30. The ESU senior, who is now 18-7 with three pins, led, 11-4, at the time.

It was a big win for Coach Angelo Borzio as his team had finished sixth to Bloomsburg’s fourth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championships. The Warriors are now 7-7 while the Huskies are 1-11.
