EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University suddenly has a one-two wrestling punch in Brad Kleckner (141) and Brandon Mihalko (165). Both won twice as the Warriors split a pair of matches Saturday, bowing to Drexel, 29-14, and beating Bucknell, 33-12.

Kleckner, returning to full-time action after missing a month with a rib injury, showed the form which carried him to a 20-11 record last season. He is 8-3 this season.

The senior from Pottsville scored 14 points in the first period with five takedowns and two near falls in scoring a technical fall over Dan Stewart of Drexel in 5:34. He then handled Justin Hartrum of Bucknell, 9-4, with six of his points coming in the first period on two takedowns and a near fall.

Mihalko, who just became eligible ten days ago, boosted his dual-meet winning streak to five straight scored a 10-7 victory over Carl Schmidt of Drexel and a 25-10 technical fall in 4:08 over Mike Saunders of Bucknell. His overall record is now 13-3.

The freshman from Bethlehem used his explosive speed to get a double leg takedown on Schmidt with 30 seconds to go and then clinched the victory with another takedown in the final seconds. He put on a takedown clinic against Saunders with eight in the first period and four in the second.

ESU heavyweight Marc Bauknecht also was undefeated on the day with a forfeit win over Drexel and a 9-4 decision over Brian Falciglia of Bucknell.

It was the final match for the Warriors, now 5-6, before the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championships Friday and Saturday at Kutztown.
