ESU-IUP Women's Lacrosse
INDIANA - Goalie Pam Roy made 23 saves as Indiana University of Pennsylvania surprised East Stroudsburg University, 7-3, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference women's lacrosse game Saturday.
The Warriors had a huge 38-17 edge in shots, but couldn't connect in its worst scoring performance in five years. The last time ESU was held to three goals was in a 16-3 loss to West Chester in 1996.
Antonia Giannopoulos scored twice and Steph Wise had one goal and one assist. The team was missing one of its top offensive players, senior attack wing Kim Niles, out with an ankle injury.
The Warriors, now 6-7 and 2-4 in the PSAC, will be in action against today, meeting Mercyhurst at 12 noon in Erie. IUP finished its season with an 8-7 overall record, including a 2-4 conference mark.
