ESU-West Chester Women's Basketball

EAST STROUDSBURG - Behind by five points, West Chester scored 20 straight points midway through the second half to defeat East Stroudsburg University, 60-48, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division women's basketball game Monday night.

Guard Heather Wolfe hit a 3-pointer to give ESU a 38-33 lead with 13:10 remaining. That was the Warriors' last points, however, for more than eight minutes.

Meanwhile, the Golden Rams reeled off eight baskets and four free throws to soar ahead, 53-38. Kristin Voorhees scored 10 of her game total of 17 points during this stretch. Michele Pilenza finally broke ESU's scoring drought on a short jumper with 4:43 remaining.

Wolfe had a strong all-around game with 13 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals. Tiffany Barnes added 12 points and Vanessa Kraft 10 for the Warriors, who are now 6-14 overall and 2-5 in the conference.

Carolyn Muldoon also scored 17 points for West Chester, which raised its record to 14-7 overall and 5-2 in PSAC play.
