BLOOMSBURG - Bloomsburg moved into a tie for the lead in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division women's basketball race by downing East Stroudsburg University, 71-48, Saturday night in the Nelson Fieldhouse.

The Huskies raised their conference record to 9-1 and tied West Chester for first place. The Golden Rams lost their first conference game to Millersville, 76-60, Saturday. ESU fell to 2-9 in the conference.

Ahead by only one point at 21-20, Bloomsburg scored the last seven points of the first half and the first four of the second half to take a 32-20 lead. The Huskies later had a ten-point run to break it open at 53-27 with 9:37 left.

Jen Bryan led a balanced Bloomsburg attack with 13 points while Carrie Pugh added 12 and Megan LaBuda 11. ESU's Kelly Hutchison took game honors with 14 points, 11 of them in the first half.

The Warriors are now 5-20 overall with one game remaining, at home against West Chester Wednesday. Bloomsburg is now 19-5.
