EAST STROUDSBURG - Forward Megan LaBuda scored19 points and grabbed ten rebounds to lead Bloomsburg to a 78-58 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division basketball victory over East Stroudsburg University Saturday night.
Jen Bryan added 14 points and Jen Spinelli 13 for the Huskies, who are now 21-3 overall and 8-2 in the conference. They were ranked sixth in the latest NCAA Division II women's basketball poll.
Tiffany Barnes was ESU's leader with 18 points and eight rebounds while Michele Pilenza added a season-high 16 points.
The game was close until early in the second half. Ahead by only a point, 36-35, Bloomsburg reeled off 11 straight points and outscored ESU, 26-6, over the next nine minutes to open a 62-41 gap.
The Warriors made a brief rally, led by senior Megan Ross and Pilenza, with nine straight points to close to 65-52, with 5:00 left, but the Huskies took control again for the final 20-points margin.
ESU is now 7-17 overall and 3-8 in the PSAC with one game remaining at West Chester Wednesday night.
