Edinboro, Pa. - Behind two second half scoring runs of 11-0 and 10-0, Edinboro out distanced East Stroudsburg University 68-51 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference women's divisional crossover game, Saturday.
The Fighting Scots up by only three points at the half, broke open the game with 11-0 run four minutes into the second half. Krystal Henson started the scoring by hitting a three-pointer, followed by a Kim Vay lay-up, a three from Wendy Wiggins, and finished by a three-point conversion by Lachelle Crawl, giving Edinboro a 17 point lead from which they never looked back.
The Warriors, 1-2, cut the lead to 8 points, with nearly eight minutes remaining on the clock, after Shelly Garlach netted a quick five points hitting a three and scoring on a lay-up followed by a Vanessa Kraft lay-up to leave ESU trailing 48-40.
Edinboro, 3-1, countered, however, with a 10-0 run, with Aden Williams scoring six of those points, to seal the win. The Fighting Scots were led by Williams, Megan Zitner and Wiggins who scored 14, 12 and 10 points respectively.
The Warriors were led by Steph Kuhn's 10 points, 7 rebounds and five assists. Kelly Hutchinson and Shelly Garlach each chipped in with 9 points a piece. Hutchinson also added 6 rebounds.
