ESU in Penn Relays Friday Events
PHILADELPHIA - East Stroudsburg University's 4 x 200-meter women's relay broke the school record by almost four seconds with a time of 1:42.16 in its heat of the Penn Relays Friday. The old mark was 1:46.20 set by a team last season.
The Warriors' runners were Jenn Eye, 26.7, Shavanna Ross, 25.4, Angela Gray, 25.4, and Cheryl Griffin, 24.5. They placed fifth in a mainly Division I heat which was led by Temple, 1:36.14, with North Carolina second, 1:36.26, and Kent third, 1:38.41.
In the annual CM Wetzler/Pennsylvania 4 x 400-meter men's relay, ESU placed seventh of the 13 schools with a time of 3:21.09. Competing were Andy Morris, 51.1, Dan Garibaldi, 49.5, Jim Dawson, 51.2, and Mark Stinson, 48.5.
Lock Haven won the event in 3:16.2 followed by Kutztown, 3:18.06; Shippensburg, 3:18.44; Rider, 3:18.98, Temple, 3:19.43, and Lafayette, 3:20.39.
