ESU Track and Field in 5th Bison Open

LEWISBURG - East Stroudsburg University's Natasha Jarrett placed third in the shot put with the Warriors' best performance in the event in 16 years and also was fourth in the 55-meter dash at the Bison Indoor Track and Field Open at Bucknell University Saturday.

Jarrett, a sophomore from Somerset, N.J., tossed the shot put 41-2 1/2, the furthest throw by an ESU woman since Renee Konopka's 41- 9 1/1 in 1986. She was timed in 7.50 in the 55 dash and finished just behind teammate Tawny Youtz, third in 7.49.

The Warriors' top finish in the 32-team meet was by Brian Holcovic, who was second in the pole vault among collegiate competitors at 14-3. Mark Stinson was fourth in the long jump at 21-10 1/2.
