ESU Track and Field/Bucknell Winter Classic

LEWISBURG - East Stroudsburg University's Mike Newhard won the high jump event for the second time in less than a week when he captured his specialty at the Bucknell Winter Classic Saturday. He leaped 6-5.

Newhard had been a winner in the Dick DeSchriver Invitational last Sunday with a meet-record 6-9 1/4. He also was first in the John Covert Classic at Lehigh in January.

The Warriors had three other place-winners. Christel Hibbard was third in the 3,000-meter run in 10:36.91 while Dan Garibaldi was sixth in the 400-meter dash in 51.58 and Mark Stinson sixth in the 55-meter dash in 6.69.
