ESU Swimming in Mansfield Relays

MANSFIELD – Freshman Natalie Weingartner set a school record in her first collegiate meet as the East Stroudsburg University got its women’s swimming season off a blazing start by winning the Mansfield Relays Saturday.

Coach Lisa Pizzuto’s team won eight of the ten relays to scored 116 points. Mansfield was second with 82 followed by Lock Haven 78, Millersville 66 and Juniata 61.

Weingartner broke the mark in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 61.54 in leading off the 300-yard backstroke relay. The old mark was 61.85 by Heather Clouser last season.

Freshman Lindsey Reese, Karen Scott and Clouser swam on four winning relays while Jamie Miller, Weingartner, Natalie Harbold and Maribeth Kenny were on three apiece.
