Dr. Carey J. Snyder, Associate Athletic Director

For a decade, Dr. Carey J. Snyder has kept East Stroudsburg University
teams and athletes competing in her multi-faceted role as the school's
associate athletic director.
Snyder wears many hats for the athletic program. Her main responsibilities
are administering the budget and handling eligibility and rules compliance.
She also takes care of game and travel arrrangements for all teams and
serves as the school's Director of Equal Opportunity in Sport.
Tireless working for the program, Snyder is respected for her continual
ability to 'get the job done' no matter how difficult or how involved the
problem.
National organizations have long utilized her organizational and
administrative abilities. She is currently one of four members on the NCAA
Division II Softball Committee.
Before joining the ESU faculty in 1987, Snyder was assistant athletic
director and an assistant professor of Physical Education at California
Lutheran University for seven years.
She also coached women's volleyball for three years, women's softball for
six years and was intramural director for five years.
As an undergraduate at Springfield College, Snyder played volleyball and
softball four years apiece. She received a bachelor's degree in Physical
Education (1976).
The Delray Beach, Fla. native earned both a master's degree (1981) and a
Ph.D (1985) from the University of Southern California, both in athletic
administration.
