Dr. Carey J. Snyder, Associate Athletic Director
12th Year

For a decade, Dr. Carey J. Snyder has kept East Stroudsburg University teams and athletes competing in her multi-faceted role as the school's associate athletic director.

Snyder wears many hats for the athletic program. Her main responsibilities are administering the budget and handling eligibility and rules compliance.

She also takes care of game and travel arrrangements for all teams and serves as the school's Director of Equal Opportunity in Sport.

Tireless working for the program, Snyder is respected for her continual ability to 'get the job done' no matter how difficult or how involved the problem.

National organizations have long utilized her organizational and administrative abilities. She is currently one of four members on the NCAA Division II Softball Committee.

Before joining the ESU faculty in 1987, Snyder was assistant athletic director and an assistant professor of Physical Education at California Lutheran University for seven years.

She also coached women's volleyball for three years, women's softball for six years and was intramural director for five years.

As an undergraduate at Springfield College, Snyder played volleyball and softball four years apiece. She received a bachelor's degree in Physical Education (1976).

The Delray Beach, Fla. native earned both a master's degree (1981) and a Ph.D (1985) from the University of Southern California, both in athletic administration.
