ESU's Geist, Lee Make All-PSAC Softball Second Team
LOCK HAVEN - East Stroudsburg University second baseman Deana Geist and catcher Erika Lee have been chosen on the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division softball second team.
Geist, a senior from Tri-Valley High School, is a repeat second team selection. Lee, a junior from Abington High School, was a first team selected as a freshman, but did not make the all-star squad last year.
A total of 22 players, 11 on the first team and 11 on the second, were honored in a vote of the division's seven head coaches. Conference champion Bloomsburg dominated the first team selection with five and had the PSAC East Athlete of the Year in pitcher Kerri Cooper.
Geist. a four-year starter, batted .262 with 37 hits, second high on the team, in 141 attempts. She had 11 RBIs, scored ten runs and had five doubles. She made only four errors in 151 fielding chances.
Lee, who has started for three years, was one of the team's top power hitters with a team-leading ten doubles and a homer. She batted .371 at 36 for 133 with 14 RBIs and 18 runs scored. She had a standout .991 fielding average with two errors in 231 attempts.
