ESU-New Paltz Men's Volleyball
EAST STROUDSBURG - New Paltz, improving their record to 11-14, rallied back from a two game deficit to defeat East Stroudsburg University in five games, 30-25, 30-27, 24-30, 20-30, 15-13 in men's volleyball action Wednesday night in Koehler Fieldhouse.
After losing the first two games, the Warriors fought their way back into the match by winning the next two with the help of outside hitter Ryan Peters, scoring nine of his game-total 13 kills in those games.
Led by hitters Sean Riley and Beau Warren, the Hawks managed to fight back in the fifth game to win the match. Riley was the team's leading scorer with 15 kills and 12 digs, while Warren posted 13 kills, 19 assists and 11 digs.
Setter James Cramer put up 36 assists for the Hawks.
The Warriors were led by senior Dustin Wood, the team's leading hitter, with a game-high 23 kills and 12 digs.
Mike Collins and Ty Zurn also hit well for the Warriors with 15 and 13 kills, respectively. Senior setter Chris James contributed 41 assists.
ESU (5-14 overall) will host LIU-Southampton Saturday at 2 p.m.
