ESU-Vassar Men's Volleyball

EAST STROUDSBURG - Vassar rallied after a strong East Stroudsburg University comeback to win the fifth game for an Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Hay Division victory, 30-20, 30-27, 26-30, 22-30, 15-12, Saturday in the Koehler Fieldhouse.

The Brewers, now 13-2 overall and 6-2 in the EIVA, appeared headed to an easy win after the first two games. ESU rallied, however, behind the play of Dustin Wood, Jon Stellefson and Chris James to tie the match at two games apiece.

Then in the fifth game, Vassar took a quick early lead as Jesse Lam made three kills and held it although the Warriors rallied and fought off four match points before losing.

Stellefson led ESU with 15 kills while Wood had 12 kills and six service aces. James made 45 assists.

Brian Harvey was the team leader in digs with 25 followed by Ty Zurn with 13.

The Warriors are now 5-9 overall and 0-6 in the division.
