ESU-LIU Southampton Men's Volleyball

SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. - LIU-Southampton outlasted East Stroudsburg University, 30-23, 28-30, 30-20, 29-31, 15-11, in an Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) Hay Division match Wednesday night.

The defeat dropped the Warriors' overall record to 7-8 with five of the losses in five-game matches. They are 4-6 in the EIVA. Southampton improved to 12-7 overall and 4-3 in the division.

Mike Messinger led the ESU attack with 22 kills while Tom Shaver had the best hitting average at .471 on 12 kills in 17 attempts and four errors. Jay Hartzel made ten digs and Dustin Wood and Brian Harvey nine apiece. Chris James had 53 assists.
