ESU-LIU Southampton Men's Soccer
SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. - East Stroudsburg University scored three goals in the last 25 minutes to win a key regional men's soccer game over LIU-Southampton, 3-1, Saturday.
It was the third straight win for the Warriors, who are now 3-1 and will open their home season Wednesday at 4 p.m. against Caldwell. Southampton is now 0-2-1.
Behind 1-0, ESU's Tom Mustac tied the game with 24:32 remaining, coming up with the ball after a scramble in the box and putting it by goalie Brian Hilton. Damian Thompson then connected on the go-ahead goal with 13:53 left off a cross from Brandon Smith.
Ahmet Kose added an insurance goal with 59 seconds to go on a chip shot following a breakaway.
The Warriors had a 13-6 edge in shots. Winning goalie Jason Land made five saves.
