ESU-Lock Haven Men's Soccer

LOCK HAVEN - Ahmet Kose scored a goal and an assist for a key win as East Stroudsburg University upset Lock Haven University 2-1 in men's soccer action Saturday afternoon.

Today's match was a huge win for the Warriors, last season's NCAA Division II semifinalists, coming into the match with two consecutive conference losses. Lock Haven was ranked 5th in last week's NCAA Division II men's soccer poll.

Lock Haven's Andrew Battersby opened up the match by scoring only 31 seconds into the first half off a pass by John Schumann.

Kose tied up the game at 26:52 with a 20 yard hard shot into the upper corner of the net off a pass from senior Chris Pinto.

Tom Mustac scored the winning goal for the Warriors in the second half at 58:27 as he beat out the last Bald Eagle defender and slotted one past the goalkeeper Paul Maguire for the 2-1 win. Kose was credited with the assist.

ESU out-shot Lock Haven 11-5. Goalie Jason Land has two saves on goal.

The Warriors, now 6-3 (1-2 PSAC), will face Caldwell at home Thursday. Lock Haven drops to 8-2 (1-2 PSAC).
