ESU Men's Soccer

ESU 4, California 2

CALIFORNIA, Pa. - Pat Stanco had two goals and an assist as East Stroudsburg opened its PSAC season with a 4-2 victory at California, Saturday.

ESU, the two-time defending PSAC champions, sent the Vulcans to their first loss of the season behind Chris Pinto's game-winning goal in the 54th minute.

The Warriors never trailed in the game as Stanco put them ahead, 1-0, 14 minutes into the contest. Cal tied things before the half, but Stanco struck again early in the second half and then assisted on Pinto's goal to put ESU up 3-1 midway through the second.

Cal responded with a Nick Adderly goal late in the game, but Ahmet Kose added the insurance for ESU shortly thereafter.

ESU (7-2, 1-0 PSAC) will travel to Kutztown Tuesday night for an 8:00 p.m. contest.
