ESU-University of Bridgeport Men's Soccer
EAST STROUDSBURG - The East Stroudsburg Warriors opened up the Kiwanis-ESU Soccer Classic with a 3-1 win over the University of Bridgeport in men's soccer action Saturday at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
University of Bridgeport sophomore Ibra Jagne ran through the defense and beat goalie Jason Land to score the first goal of the game on an assist from Tadami Yoshida.
ESU quickly answered back with a solid kick into the lower corner of the net from senior forward Tom Mustac, tying the game at 1-1. Junior Joey Piscopo was credited with the assist.
After numerous shots on goal, the Warriors finally converted towards the end of the second half. Chris Pinto battled through the defense to score his first goal of the game off a pass from Piscopo.
Mustac, pulling goalie Adam Dodge out for an open shot on net, scored the game winning goal on an assist from Mike Lotocki, ending the game at 3-1.
ESU had 16 shots on goal in the game, led by Mustac and Ahmet Kose with four each.
In the first game, Concordia College defeated New Jersey Tech 2-0.
The Classic ends Sunday with University of Bridgeport taking on New Jersey Tech at 1p.m. followed by the Warriors against Concordia at 3:30 p.m.
