ESU-New York Tech Men's Soccer

EAST STROUDSBURG-Tom Mustac scored two goals as East Stroudsburg University remained in strong contention for an NCAA playoff berth by beating New York Tech, 3-0, Wednesday.

The Warriors, an NCAA Division II Final Four team last season, raised their record to 13-4. They have two regular-season games remaining at California Saturday and at Shippensburg Sunday.

They are ranked second in the NCAA Eastern Region behind Dowling. The top two teams will make the national play-offs.

Mustac scored the team's first goal for the fourth straight game. He headed in a lobbed cross from Ahmet Kose with 4:18 left in the first half.

The junior from West Milford, N.J. then made it, 2-0, early in the second half as he knocked in a rebound off a shot by Kurt Nusshag. Mustac now has a team-leading 12 goals this season with four two-goal games.

Jason Cropper closed the scoring as he converted a deflection off a shot by Kamar Samuels.

The ESU defense didn't allow New York Tech, now 10-4-1, to take a single shot. Goalie Jason Land thus posted his sixth shutout without a save.
