ESU-Bloomsburg Men's Soccer
BLOOMSBURG - East Stroudsburg University completed its second straight unbeaten Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference men's soccer regular season by downing Bloomsburg, 2-0, Tuesday.
The Warriors finished with an 8-0 PSAC record and have now won 21 straight conference games over three seasons. They are 15-2-1 overall and will play host to the PSAC championship game Nov. 5th at 1 p.m. against either Lock Haven or California.
ESU goalie Jason Land posted his fifth straight shutout and seventh of the season. He made only three saves, but one was a diving stop on a free kick when the score was still 1-0. The junior from Carney's Point, N.J. has not allowed a goal for 482 minutes since Dowling scored early in the second half in a 1-0 game Sept. 27th.
Jorge Chapoy, this week's PSAC Player of the Week, put ESU on the board six minutes into the second half with his 18th goal of the season and sixth in the last three games. Karl Nusshag swung the ball into the box to Troy Grubb, who took a shot which was blocked, but Chapoy put the rebound away.
Tom Mustac wrapped up the victory with three minutes left, as he took a crossing pass from Ahmet Kose and slotted the ball inside the far post.
