ESU-West Chester Men's Soccer
EAST STROUDSBURG - Jorge Chapoy scored two goals within less than a minute to break a scoreless tie and carry East Stroudsburg University to a 3-0 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference men's soccer win over West Chester Thursday.
It was the Warriors' 19th straight conference victory and sixth this season. They are 13-2-1 overall and will play host to Shippensburg for a 2 p.m. game on Super Soccer Sunday. West Chester is now 9-8 overall and 2-5 in PSAC play.
Karl Nusshag set up the first goal as he dribbled up the middle and then slotted a pass between two defenders to Chapoy, who booted a shot to the far left post from eight yards out. It came with 15:33 gone in the second half.
The second goal followed 49 seconds later as Chapoy ran on to a pass from Brandon Smith and connected from 12 yards. The two goals gave Chapoy 14 for the season.
The Warriors added a clinching goal five minutes later with Joey Piscopo scoring his third goal of the campaign with Nusshag credited with the assist.
Goalie Jason Land made six saves to post his fourth straight shutout and sixth of the season.
