MSOC10-17-01

EAST STROUDSBURG – Mike Lotocki scored with 1:02 remaining to give East Stroudsburg University a 2-1 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference men’s soccer victory over Bloomsburg Wednesday.

It was the third straight PSAC win for the Warriors, who are now 3-2 in the league and 11-4 overall. They have won the conference title the last four years and eight of the last nine seasons.

Coach Jerry Sheska’s team has a key PSAC contest Saturday at 12 noon, meeting Slippery Rock, which was 3-1-1 in the league before a Wednesday night contest at Lock Haven.

The Warriors also have back-to-back conference games remaining Oct. 27 at California, which is in first place with a 3-0-1 record, and Oct. 28 at Shippensburg, which is in last place at 1-5. The top three teams will advance to the conference playoffs.

Lotocki took a pass from Dom Sciurba and took a hard shot which deflected off a defender into the nets. It was his sixth goal of the season.

After a scoreless first half, Bloomsburg took a 1-0 lead with ten gone in the second half on a shot by Adam Clay after a pass from Greg Pompei. ESU tied the score seven minutes later as Tom Mustac connected for his team-leading ninth goal following a cross by Brandon Smith, who has seven assists.

Bloomsburg dropped to 5-4-2 overall and 2-2-1 in PSAC play.
